“Laurel, you have captured so many beautiful photos of our daughter. My husband and I will cherish each and every one that we have displayed in our home. Thank you so much and I can't wait for the next photo shoot that we have with you!"

Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your style?
I'd say vibrant with a healthy mix of candid moments and thoughtful poses. While I do pose my clients, I do so in a way that doesn't feel forced or non-genuine. As for my editing techniques, I love bright and well-lit photographs full of color but I’m also a sucker for a moody and emotional image that'll make you do a double take!
How do I book with you?
That's easy! All you need to do is call me up or shoot me an email and let me know which dates work for you. My schedule tends to fill up quickly, so the sooner you get a hold of me, the more likely it is that we can schedule on your preferred date. Once you've selected a date, I require the session fee upfront which acts as your non-refundable security deposit and locks in your date!
Do you offer payment plans?
I do! I understand that photographs are an investment and paying in one lump sum isn't always ideal. My payment plans are most popular with my milestone package, but I will offer them for all of the products that you purchase. Payment is due in full prior to delivering your images. We can work together to devise a plan that works perfectly for you.
How do payments work?
I take credit card, cash or check. I will send you an invoice to your email address and you can pay by card using the secure link or mail a check. I can also take payment in person.
What should I wear to my session?
We will discuss colors and style during your pre session consultation. We will work together to choose outfits that fit your unique and individual style and that will work well with the chosen location.
Do I have control over what images you share?
Of course. No matter what session I'm photographing, I will always make sure that you have a say in whether or not I post to social media or on my website
Will you come to my home?
Definitely! While most of my sessions take place on-location or at my in home studio, we can always take photographs at your house. This option is particularly popular with newborn photos, and sometimes family sessions. Do note that I prefer to photograph in a room that's extremely well lit with natural light.
How far in advance should I schedule my session?
This, of course, depends on the session type. For example, I think some of the best maternity photos are taken between the seven and eight month mark. Newborn photos are most successful within the first ten days of your child's birth. Other than that, when you book is up to you!
What happens if it rains or someone gets sick?
I understand that people get sick and that the weather misbehaves, so I always plan in advance. If you, or someone in your crew, gets sick, we can reschedule for another date. The same is true for rainy days or non-ideal weather. If rescheduling due to weather isn't preferred, I so have some backup indoor locations to shoot in.
Do you photograph sessions and other events outside your immediate area?
Yes I do! Contact me and we'll discuss the details.
How long do I have to wait to view my images?
The waiting game is never any fun. For that reason, I work quickly to get your images to you. I typically schedule the in person reveal within two weeks after your session.
Do you provide mini-sessions?
At this time, I have a few mini-sessions in the works, but they have not been formally announced. Stay tuned!
What kinds of products do you offer?
I offer a whole slew of prints and products, including gift prints and fine art wall prints, gallery wraps, albums, folio boxes and more!
How many outfit and location changes can I have?
I never limit your outfit or location changes. All I ask is that you keep in mind that the time it takes for you to change or for us to move to another location does count toward your session time.
What should I bring with me to my session?
With kiddos it’s always a good idea to be prepared for anything! Bring snacks and drinks that won’t make a huge mess if they are spilled. Also, bring an extra set of clothes just in case! Here in the Northwest our outdoor photo shoots tend to be a little wet! For newborn sessions, bring anything needed for feeding your baby, extra diapers and wipes and a pacifier if one is used. I use all of my own wraps, teeny tiny outfits and props for newborn sessions but if you have something special you would like incorporate, please feel free to bring it along. And don’t forget yourself! Snacks and drinks for you are important too.
